.Louvina Antwine was born in Berwyn, Okla., on May 4, 1931. Her parents are the late Walter Lee Sr. and Charity Bell Randell Antwine. A lifetime resident of Carter County, she acquired an education from Black Jack School in the Berwyn Community.
For numerous years, Louvina was employed at the Chuck Wagon Restaurant. She was a lifelong member of Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church and attended faithfully until failing health prevented. Although she never held a church office, once a doorkeeper, Louvina was always present.
For years, she continued studies at each facet of the Chickasaw District Association's Congress. Louvina ministered at Fishes and Loaves. Additionally, she was an active member at the HFV Wilson Community Center's Senior Citizens Club.
Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009, at 9:13 a.m., in Mercy Memorial Hospital, her soul took flight. She was 78 years, 3 months and 5 days old. She was preceded in death by her father, Dec. 21, 1966; her mother, Sept. 4, 1997; her son, Danny Charles Bennett, Nov. 12, 1995; a brother, Loss Ray Antwine, May 28, 1997; two sisters, Josephine Antwine, July 2, 1993, and Bobbie Jean Antwine, Dec. 23, 1995.
Louvina is survived by a son, Sanford Lorens, Ardmore; four grandchildren, Michael, Sanford Jr. and Andra, each of Ardmore and Elax of Colorado; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Love, Oklahoma City and Ethel Bell Antwine, Ardmore; one brother, Walter Lee Antwine Jr., Ardmore; generations of nieces and nephews, which include a very special niece, JoElla Breath; other relatives, numerous friends; the HFV Wilson Senior Citizens Club Members and the Mt. Pleasant Church family.
A celebration of life will be held at her home church in Gene Autry, Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Kirk D. Rushing officiating. The final resting place will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Honorary bearers are members of the Mount Pleasant Women's Mission and Brotherhood. Active bearers are Michael London, Anthony Antwine, Willie Lorens, Reginald Berryman, Billy Douglas, Melvin Breath and Otis Love.
Services are entrusted to the care of Kirk Funeral Home. Visitation will be held in the funeral home chapel Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
