OBITUARY - EDDIE MAY DECKER
Eddie May Decker was born to John Edgar and Martha Jane Harmon December 27, 1877 at Sweet Springs, Saline County, Missouri, and departed this life July 23, 1940 at the age of 62 years 6 months and 26 days.
She was married to Landon Francis Decker on September 1, 1895 in Saline County, Missouri. To this union nine children were born, two who were taken by death when they were infants.
They moved from Missouri to Garfield County, Oklahoma in the fall of 1899 where they made their home until November 7, 1900 when they filed on a claim 12 miles south of Waynoka in Major County. They moved to Parmer County, Texas in 1928 where they lived until 1933. They then moved to a farm northwest of Curtis where she was stricken by paralysis the summer of 1934. She became a Christian of the Church of God in 1920. She lived a good Christian until her death.
She is survived by her husband, and seven children, Melvin Decker, of Quinlan, Elsie Russell, of Ashland, Oregon, Lorena May Davidson, of Mineral Springs, Missouri, Viola Belle Clemence. of Waynoka, Georgia Almeta McDougall, of Alvadore, Oregon, William Evertt Decker, of Waynoka, Martha Elizabeth Clemence, of Phoeniz, Arizonia.
There are forty-two grandchilren and one great-grandchild and three sisters; Mary Barnese, of Kansas City, Missouri, Mattie Brinley, of Garber, Elnora Hayes, of Sweet Springs, Missouri and one brother, Will Louis Harmon, of Sherman.
