Boone D Abell was born in Pike County, Indiana on September 19, 1905 to Phillip David Abell and Mary Anna Riggle-Abelll. He was first married to Merle Abell but they were divorced by August 30, 1940 when he had enlisted in the Medical Department of the Army and was attached to the 2116th Army Air Force. At the time of his enlistment his occupation was Pharmacist. He enlisted at Randolph Field, San Antonio, Texas. He served his country from August 30, 1940 until September 2, 1945 with an honorable discharge with the rank of Cpl. He was awarded American Defense, Service Medal and Good Conduct Ribbon His enlistment record states that he lived in Kiowa County, Oklahoma at this time. Boone later married Edna Alice Ensley in December 1945. Boone and Edna did not have any children. Boone had two sisters, Mona M. Abell- Stengel and Jane C Abell-Copp.
Boone Abell’s Davis Service Will Be Today
Davis, March 14 – Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday in the First Christian church here to Boone D. Abell, 53, who died Thursday in his home here. Burial will be in the Jones IOOF cemetery. A native of Indiana, Abell operated a drugstore here. A former employee of Veazey Drug Co. he came here 10 years ago from Oklahoma City. He was a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and Veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Edna his father, Dr. P.D. Abell, Snyder; and two sisters.
