Isaac Washington "Buck" Batt was born October 10, 1895 in Wayne County, Illinois and came to Oklahoma with his Parents, William Thomas Batt and Ruthiene Caroline Wells Batt in a covered wagon and settled north of McLoud, Ok.
He was in WWI and saw action in France and Italy. He was married to Elaine Cox. They were parents of 4 boys, two sets of twins, Don, John (Dec.), Ray (Dec.) and Roy.
Don and John were 7 years old when he passed away. Ray and Roy were 3 or 4 years old. Don has a lot of memories of his Dad and always spoke with so much love for his Dad. Even tho he was only 7 he remembers many good things about his Dad. He told of the time they were riding in the wagon with Buck and the horse got spooked and ran off with them in the wagon, Buck told Don and John to go to the back of the wagon and jump out, they did as he said and jumped out. He saw that they were headed for a deep canyon and if it were not for a young sappling tree that the wheel was caught between it would have been devastating.
