Nathaniel "Nat" LIGON, born the 2nd child of Bettie and "Hadley" LIGON in Burneyville, Indian Territory. Nathaniel was listed as a Choctaw Freedmen on Dawes Card # 106. The land he received for his allotment in 1907 appears to gone by 1910, reason unknown.
By 1917 Nat was 30 years of age, working as a Porter at the Chickasha Hospital in Chickasha, OK; married and a father according to his draft registration card.
Nathaniel served honorably in the 809th Pioneer Infrantry as a sargent and served with some distinguished men, Samuel Walton Jr., Thomas Davis, Fred Jones a noted inventor and Howard P. Drew, the first black judge in the city of Hartford, CT.
