Services for Maceo Anderson, 65, will be 11 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Kenneth Wright officiating. Interment will be in Hickory Cemetery, Woodford.
Anderson was born March 31, 1932, in Carter County to Sylvester and Ozella Stevenson Anderson. He died Sept. 6, 1997, in the local hospital.
Active with the First Baptist Church, he was a member of the male chorus and brotherhood treasurer. He served as assistant coordinator for the church's Loaves and Fishes and was president and treasurer for the M2 JB Men's Club.
He retired from the Ward Merrick family after working for the families of Drs. J. Hobson Veazey, Albert Caywood and James Turrentine. He had also been employed by Otis Gann Chevrolet of Healdton and Colvert Dairy.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth; three daughters, Pearl Carter, Fort Worth, Texas, Neta Anderson-Knox and LaWanda Anderson, Oklahoma City; a brother, Zelto, Ardmore; and seven sisters, Lucille Nash, Betty Banks and Alice Dinwiddle, all of Ardmore, Lanessa "Ann" Rutledge and Georgia Johnson, Oklahoma City, Earline Houston, Tulsa, and Mittie Lornes, Wichita Falls, Texas; his stepmother, Betty Anderson, Ardmore; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Perry, Feb. 1, 1997.
Bearers will be his nephews, Leo Baker, Darrell, Gerald and Wayne Anderson, Joe, Larry and Wendell Cohee, Mark and James Nash Jr. The First Baptist Brotherhood, male chorus and ushers will be honorary bearers.
Kirk-Dawson-Dillard Funeral Home will direct services.
