WOODFORD Services for Robert Levern Anderson, 85, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2007, at Jehovah Baptist Church with pastor Roy C. Johnson and pastor Theodore Anderson officiating. Until the resurrection, the body will rest in Hickory Cemetery.

Born on Aug. 23, 1921, in Woodford, Okla., the oldest child of Simon and Marie Roberts Anderson, his soul took flight on Sunday, March 18, 2007 at the local hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Leon; two sisters, L.G. Jackson and Ledonia Pickens.

Raised in Woodford, he attended St. John School and united with Mt. Olive Baptist Church where, under the leadership of pastor Cato, he joined the choir and sang with a particular quartet. A bus driver for the Central and Graham schools, he was a vast landowner and always farmed, acquiring every piece of farm equipment necessary for business. He contracted jobs and most of the community knew him as their employer. He and his employees bailed hay throughout Carter County. He was a lifetime resident of Carter County. For recreation he played dominos and most partners know him as the domino champion.

He married the former Katherine Richardson and six children were born to this union, an infant who died at birth, Dwight, Robert "R.V.," Doretha, Mazella and Marie. He and Wanda Loftis were married in 1979. They had two daughters, Margaretta and Monica.

He leaves to forever cherish precious memories of his life, his wife, of the home in Ardmore; three sons, Gilbert, Lone Grove, R.V. and Dwight, Woodford; five daughters, Doretha Anderson and Marie Jones, Woodford, Mazella Pickens, Kansas City, Mo., Margaretta Rogers, Ardmore, and Monica Milo, Marietta; four stepchildren, Juanita McCarroll, Ronald Murph, and Ricky Murph, all of Ardmore, and Anardo Murph, Tulsa; two sisters, Vivian Howard, Gene Autry, and Hildred Benson, Ardmore; 44 grandchildren; 94 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, numerous relatives and friends.
