OVERTON - Funeral services for Grace Leadima Quinnett Addington, 94, of Overton, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, September 8, 2008, at the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel in Overton, with the Reverend Richard Boone officiating. Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at the Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson, Oklahoma.
She was born July 22, 1914, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, to the late Francis Marian Quinnett and Bessie Matilda Lint Quinnett. Mrs. Addington moved to Overton in 1942 from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was a member of the AARP and a Past Grand Noble of the Rebecca Lodge. She was also a member of the Extension Homemaker Club and was a member of the Chevron-Gulf Retirees of East Texas. Mrs. Addington served as a Girl Scout Leader for eight years and worked for Loggins Restaurant in Tyler for 10 1½2 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Overton, where she served in the Class Ministry of the T.E. Land Fidelis Class for 19 years. Mrs. Addington married William Henry Harrison Addington Jr., in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on October 12, 1929.
Mr. William Addington Jr. preceded her in death in 1977. She was also preceded in death by her son, Danny Alloyus Addington, in 1934; and by two great-grandchildren.
There are six sets of five generations in the family. Survivors include her three sons and daughters-in-law, William and Mary Jo Addington, and David and Jeanie Addington, all of Tyler, and Lloyd and Kay Addington of Longview; three daughters and a son-in-law, Grace Calhoun of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Barbara and Freddie Womack of Troup, and Brenda Bell of Overton; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
