ADA-Services for Virginia Lou Greenwood-Boston, 56, Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Chickasaw Community Center, Revs. Carlen Thompson and Larry Hawkins will officiate. Burial follows at the Greenwood Cemetery in Fillmore. Visitation will be at the family home, 15159 CR 3539, Ada, from 3:30 p.m. Sunday until Monday morning.
Mrs. Greenwood-Boston died on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at her home. She was born November 9, 1953, in Talihina, Oklahoma, to Virgil Jim and Geraldine Factor Greenwood. She lived in this area all her life. She graduated from East Central University with a Bachelor's degree and worked for the Chickasaw Nation as a counselor and was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was a member of Blue Baptist Church. She married Donald Lee Boston on February 14, 1987. He preceded her in death on August 22, 1999.
Survivors include five daughters, Mariah Adair and husband David, Ada; Tawahnah Love, Seminole; Barbara Underwood and husband Jackie, Stratford; Donna Joe, Ardmore; and Tina Underwood and husband Dennis, Sulphur; four sons, Chiefy Greenwood and wife Starla, Tishomingo; Robby Boston, Norman; Ted Boston and wife Nancy, Tishomingo; and Chance Rush, Oklahoma City; five sisters, Pat Cox and husband Jimmy, Ada; Evelyn Wood and husband Lee Baptiste, Ada; Linda Greenwood, Pine Ridge, South Dakota; Carolyn Mendoza and husband Jessie, Oklahoma City; and Dianne Catron and husband Dale, Tishomingo; two brothers, Leon Greenwood and wife Peggy, Ada; and Dewayne Greenwood and wife Dani, Blanchard; 11 grandchildren, and one great grandson, Tushka Ikimilho Virgil Adair.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Georgie Greenwood Frazier; three grandsons, Jacob, Taylor and Dustin; and two sons, Randall Boston and Rodney Johnson.
Bearers are Joey Landsdale, Choogie Kingfisher, Clint Forrest, Russell Cocker, Scott Colbert and Justin Yerby.
Honorary bearers are Govenor Bill Anoatubby, Lt. Governor Jefferson Keel, Lanny North, Ron Scott and Larry Colbert.
