Funeral services for Blossom Neal (Burch) Adler, 82 of Weatherford will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2000, at Zion Evangelical Free Church in Weatherford with Harold Goldmann and David Blackmore officiating.
Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery in Weatherford under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home of Weatherford.
Blossom was born to Roy and Natalie (Schultz) Burch on March 9, 1918, in Lone Oak and died Saturday, Oct.14, in Presbyterian Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Blossom was raised in Sayre where she went to school. She then went to Southwest Teachers College for two years and to cosmetology school for one year.
On Aug.22, 1953, Blossom married Ernest Adler in Elk City. They made their home in Weatherford where she owned and operated Blossom's Beauty Shop for more than 35 years before retiring in 1985.
Blossom was a caring, devoted mother, wife and grandmother. She was a working mother who tirelessly ran her business and her household with love and energy.
She enjoyed crocheting, playing with her grandchildren, attending church activities and baking. Her caring arms were always there to give a hug or mend a hurting heart. Her door was always open to those who needed a moment to rest or visit. Blossom's special sense of humor brought a smile to those who knew her.
She instilled in her children and grandchildren strong virtues, a love of life and respect for others. She will be greatly missed by her family, her community and her church.
Memorials may be made to Zion Evangelical Free Church in Weatherford or to the Oklahoma Lung Association.
Blossom is survived by her two sons, Jim Hawkins and wife Theresa of Sedona, Az., and Floyd Adler and wife Talitha of Fort Smith, Ark., one daughter, Diane Logan and husband John of Woodward; one brother, F.C. Burch and wife Gene of Weatherford; one sister, Freda Winsett and husband Wayne of Altus; 10 grandchildren, Johnny, Josh and Jacob Logan, Morgandee Swanson, Christina and Harrison Hawkins, Mickey and Megan Friedrich and Tyler and Trent Kiesau; one great-grandson, Grant Kiesau; a cousin, Evelyn White of Oklahoma City; and an uncle, Kermit Burch of Houston, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, roy and Natalie Burch; her husband, Ernest Adler; one brother, Donald Burch; and a very special cousin, Christine Richardson.
