The Carnegie Herald, March 6, 1929 Jonathan Jantz Jonathan Jantz, 43-year-old farmer living 16 miles southeast of Carnegie, died Sunday after an illness of several weeks. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Greenfield Mennonite church near his home and interment was made in the Greenfield cemetery. Rev. A.W. Froese, pastor, conducted the services, being assisted by Rev. H.W. Schmidt of Meno and Rev. W.A.R. Lovell of Carnegie. A large crowd gathered to pay their last respects to their friend and neighbors. Mr. Jantz was born at McPherson, Kans., October 2, 1885, being 43 years, 5 months and 1 day of age at the time of his death. He was married to Miss Lena Koehn May 18, 1915 and to this union five children were born, Viola, Harold, Katleen and twin boys, Roy and Ray. Besides his wife and children he is survived by his aged mother, two brothers and four sisters, all of whom were present at the funeral except one sister, Mrs. Susie McLarty of Perryton, Tex. He joined the Mennonite church in 1914 and lived faithful to his church.
