Ramona J Adams, 61, of Anadarko, was born October 10, 1950, in Gracemont, Oklahoma, to Charlie H. and Dorothy Mae (Bussell) Adams. She passed from this life on October 9, 2012, at St. Anthony Hospital, in Oklahoma City, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Ramona grew up in Gracemont and graduated from Gracemont High School in 1968. She and James A. White were married in Gracemont on June 14, 1968, and to this union were born two daughters, Shannon and Angela. She later married Rickey G. Tripp and to this unon a daughter, Heather was born.
In 1970 she attend Warr Acres Beauty College, and for 41 years she was a hair stylist. She owned three salons in Anadarko, A Change of Pace, A Permanent Solution, and Ramona's Cut 'n Curl. In 1995 she, her daughter Shannon and her sister Donna opened Hometown Cafe. Later she worked for SBC/AT&T in Oklahoma City for several years. She had made her home in Chickasha for several years. She was a member of the Virginia Avenue Baptist Church.
Ramona lived going to the casino and coffee shop and hanging out with all her friends and family. Her children and grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She will be greatly missed by all who new her.
Proceding her in death were her parents, 2 sisters, Joan Powell and Ella Mae Hoolihan, 2 brothers, Charles Adams and Raymond Adams, niece Teresa Adams, nephew Chad Dickson, and son-in-law Thomas Ozio.
Survivors include daughters Shannan Ozio of Chickasha and companion Mikle Kionute of Gracemont, Angela White and fiance' Devin Haury of Oklahoma City and Heather Tripp Johnson and husband Bryson of Alex, and adopted daughter Candice Kionute and husband Raymond of Gracemont; granchildren, Autumn and Hunter Todd and D.J. Placencia, all of Oklahoma City; Rae-Anna Johnson of Alex; Jackilyn Ozio Thompson of Anadarko and Jennifer Alwan of Cairo, Egypt; great grandchildren, Ethan Thompson of Anadarko and Aminah Alwan of Cairo, Egypt; sisters Donna Adams of Chickasha and Mary Housner and husband Bud of Moore; brothers Gene Fogle and wife Sue of Gracemont, Ray Adams and wife Beverly and Dale Adams and wife Barbara of Bethany; brother-in-law Dave Powell of Greenbriar, Tennessee, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends including Mary Oyebi of Anadarko.
A funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, October 13, 2012, at the Virginia Avenue Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Gracemont Cemetery under the direction of Steverson Funeral Home. Viewing will be from 9 AM to 9 PM on Friday and from 9 AM to 11:30 AM Saturday. Condolences may be left for the family at www.steversonfuneralhome.com
