Ronald "Ronnie" Larry Baskett, 72, long-time Cooperton Valley, Oklahoma, resident passed away after a sudden illness on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Elkview General Hospital, Hobart, Kiowa County, Oklahoma.
He was born April 25, 1936 in Gotebo, Kiowa County, Oklahoma to Luther Robert and Ruby Louise (Jones) Baskett. He graduated from Gotebo High School in 1955 and has lived in Cooperton 53 years. Ronald was a trucker for 40 years and drove over 4 million miles. He was brokered to Jennings Trucking Service since 1968. Ronald was a member of the Gotebo First Baptist Church, Gotebo, Oklahoma and chairman of the Board of Deacons for many years.
He married Iva Dell Arganbright on June 17, 1956 in Washita County, Oklahoma. He was on the Cooperton Town Board for 40 years.
