Enid, OK — A memorial service for Ralph Lester Barrett, 88, of Enid, will be 11 a.m. today, Oct. 12, 2009, at Emmanuel Baptist Church Chapel. The Rev. Ted Kuschel will officiate. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery, Helena. Cremation arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.
He was born Oct. 21, 1920, in Binghamton, N.Y., to Lester Blaine and Ruth Lucy Stevens Barrett and died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center.
He married Elizabeth Joan Woodall April 20, 1952, in Grand Prairie, Texas.
He lived most of his life in Ohio. He served in the Army Air Corp as a aircraft mechanic. He worked as a master tool and die maker at several machine shops. After retirement, they moved to Bella Vista, Ark., and then to Enid in 1989.
He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and Service Corp. of Retired Executives (SCORE).
Surviving are two nieces, three great-nieces and three great-great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Joan, and one brother.
