Johnson Fisher "John F" Carey
Birth: Sep. 19, 1934
Mazie
Mayes County
Oklahoma, USA
Death: Sep. 24, 1978
Riverton
Fremont County
Wyoming, USA

~~~My Grand Uncle~~~
Johnson was the youngest child of Dick and Nancy (Fisher) Carey, Cherokee Nation citizens. He attended Valley School in Fisher Bend and Seneca Indian School in Wyandotte as a boy where he was active in sports such as boxing and basketball. He later enlisted with the U.S. Marine Corps and served in Korean War.
Johnson was named after his maternal grandfather, Johnson Fisher, Jr, but was called John F. by his family. As the youngest of nine children, he was very much loved by his older siblings.
One day, for some unknown reason, John F. hopped a train. He was murdered by a group of hobos and thrown from the train. His body was returned to his brother, Aaron, in Oklahoma. He is buried in an unmarked grave between his brothers, Mike and Millard.
John F. never married and never had children.
