Harold Bollman was born in Wakita, Oklahoma to Arthur Bollman and Mary Elizabeth (Dickmeyer) Bollman on April 15, 1922. At age 20, Harold began service in the army during WWII where he served for 3 years in Bismarck, Archipelago, New Guinea, Southern Philippines and Luzon before returning home in December of 1945. He then met Wanda Belle Ricker at Central Baptist Church and was married on November 16, 1951. They have lived on the Bollman farm west of Wakita until he went to be with the Lord December 16, 2010. They have three children: Lucinda (Cindy) Murphy and Kenny of Denver, CO, Cathy Graham and Terry of Byron, OK and Jeff Bollman and Ann of Wakita, OK. Their Grandchildren are Kenna Murphy Mosley and Jeremiah, Kelly Graham, Jeffery and Dana Bollman, Scott and Emily Murphy, Jared and Chanda Bollman, Kara Graham, and Jacob Bollman. Great Grandchildren are Madeline Belle Mosley, Oliver Mosley, and Rye Bollman.
Harold was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a humble, quiet and gentle man who cared for his children, grandchildren and most recently, his great grandchildren.
He loved the farm life and was a true farmer through and through. He was so young when he began driving the tractor that he required a wood block just to reach the pedal. Harold continued in farming his entire life. Along with the crops he also enjoyed raising a small herd of cattle. His whole family worked alongside of him on the farm. His grandchildren couldn't seem to spend enough time with him out caring for the cattle, harvesting wheat, or working ground. He had many long talks with his grandsons at the back of the pick-up bed or telling them stories around a big dinner table prepared by Wanda.
Along with being a farmer & rancher, Harold was a strong Christian man who raised his family to follow in the same footsteps of faith in Christ. He has been a faithful member of Central Baptist Church, Anthony, Kansas since 1951. His Children and grandchildren hope to live up to the legacy of their grandfather.
Other family members living are brothers; Art of Dover, Delaware; Bill of Anthony, KS; sisters: Elsie Derrick of Anthony, KS; Edna Smith of Harper, KS; and Phyllis Yuchinovicz of Newport, Virginia. Preceding him in death were his parents Arthur and Elizabeth Bollman, and brothers and sisters George, Lewis, Harry, and Ruth Best.
