|Birth: ||Oct. 10, 1935|
|Death: ||Mar. 1, 2010|
On Monday, March 1, 2010, Robert Wayne Charter entered into the Kingdom of Heaven and was reunited with his parents. He was born on October 10, 1935 in Bartles-ville, OK. His family later moved to Luther, OK, where he met the love of his life, Pat. They were married on June 24, 1956. Robert was accomplished at many things. He served in the 45th Infantry of the Army National Guard, was a Boy Scout Troop Leader, and served as a Church Deacon for several years. He loved aeronautics, and after receiving his A&P certification, worked on the first 10 747's manufactured and later on had the priviledge of working on Air Force One. He also worked in the oil industry for several years as a Production Supervisor, a trade he learned from his father. Robert was a simple man, he was a man of strong faith and was known for his compassionate demeanor. He was an avid gardener and had a knack for growing beautiful roses. He had many interests and hobbies, but most important to him was family. He was proud of his children and adored his grandchildren and great-grendchildren, and his family adored him in return. He will be remembered for many things -- his faith, playfulness, strength, loyalty, and most especially his loving nature -- and maybe his mile-wide ornery streak. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Rev. Dorothy (Barham) Charter; a brother, James Franklin Charter; a sister, Sharon Gail Charter; one grandson, Justin Thomas Charter; and a brother-in-law, Sherman Anderson. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Pat (Donnell) Charter. He is also survived by his children: John Charter; Robert Charter, Jr. and wife, Carlene; Lillie Menn and husband, Bob; Suzanna Nicholson and husband, Richard; Lucinda Charter and Barbara Charter; grandchildren: Cristopher Gravett and wife, Elizabeth; Dustin Charter and wife, Virginia; Ashley Charter; Jamie McClain and husband, Chad; Whitney Charter; Robert Bramlett; Halee Bramlett and Andrew Nicholson; great-grandchildren: Isabel Gravett; Brayden Bramlett; Elaina Gravett and Kenna Bramlett; siblings: David Charter; Tommie Ryals and husband, Laith; Elizabeth Anderson; Bonnie Hancock and husband, Leon; extended family: Liz Dunn, and Shelley and Josh Carter; and many nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones. Memorial services will be held Monday, March 8, 2010, at 2:00 pm at the Open Door Assembly of God Church in Luther, OK, with interment at the Donnell Cemetery in Arcadia, OK.
