Velma Jean Huff, 70, of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away on July 31, 2006 in Oklahoma City. Velma was born on October 2, 1935 in Maud, Oklahoma to John & Velma (Clark) Patton. Born in Maud, she moved around Oklahoma with her husband who worked on the railroad, until settling in the Okla. City area for the last 50 years. On October 2, 1952, she married Charlie Henry Huff, Jr. in Carlsbad Cavern, New Mexico. She was a homemaker and took care of her grandchildren. She was active with the Girl Scouts for 20 years, and involved in the PTA. She loved genealogy and sewing. She was preceded in death by her parents, Velma & Guy Rushton and sisters, Opal Bailey & John 'Johnnie' Dell Murray. Survivors include her husband, Charlie H. Huff, Jr. of the home; daughter & son-in-law, Marilyn & Marcus Jahnel of Okla. City; son & daughter-in-law, Ronald Guy & Mary Huff of Okla. City; sisters, Pat Woodall, Bonnie Garner, and Dorthea 'Dot' Glass; 4 grandchildren, Corey Huff, Jennifer Jahnel, Matthew Huff, and Jared Jahnel; 1 great-grandson, Bradley Jahnel; and special aunt, Claudia Harvey. Service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 3, 2006 at Cooper Funeral Chapel with Donnie Knight officiating. Burial will be at Cummins Cemetery in Maud, under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
