Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Rudolph H. Cleghorn of El Reno will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 8, 2007, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Father Phillip Donohoe will officiate. Interment of cremains will be at a later date in the Cleghorn Cemetery in Red Rock. Services are under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home.

Mr. Cleghorn died Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, in the Veterans Hospital in Clinton. He was born Aug. 6, 1922, in Red Rock. He was a graduate of Morrison High School and received his bachelor of arts degree from the University of Kansas. Rudolph H. Cleghorn married Josie (Tafoya) Church on Dec. 27, 1958.

They came to El Reno in 1960 and resided here since. He served in the Seabees in the Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. In 1991, Mr. Cleghorn was appointed by President George Bush to be on the Federal Counsel of the Aging, and in 1994 he was reappointed by President William Jefferson Clinton. Rudolph retired from the Bureau of Prisons where he had been a parole officer. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, American Legion and the and VFW.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, Emmett and Vera (Woodall) Cleghorn, and a grandson, Christopher Braden Church.

Survivors include his wife, Josie Cleghorn; a son, Phillip L. Church and wife, Marilee, of El Reno; a daughter, Carol Wilson, and husband, Andrew, of El Reno; five grandchildren, Phillip Leighton Church, Heidi Curtis and husband, Dallas, Beau Clark, Christina Clark and Heather Clark; two great-grandchildren, Dexter Clark and Aubrey Flowers; and numerous other relatives and many dear friends.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 5400 N. Grand Blvd. Ste. 255, Oklahoma City, OK 73112.
