Hazel Dora Addison
Funeral services for Hazel Dora Addison, 94, of Albert were held Tuesday, July 28, 1998 at 10:30 a.m. at the Oney Baptist Church with Rev. Don Wright officiating.
Hazel was born August 20, 1903 in Chickasha to Alvin Childress and Dora (Miller) Childress and died Friday, July 24 in Anadarko.
She grew up in Purdey and this is where she attended school. She married Golden Addison on November 4, 1923 in Bradley.
After their marriage, they came to Caddo County, lived and farmed south of Fort Cobb and then moved to the Oney community where they farmed several years. After her husband's death, she lived in California for about 15 years and then returned to the Oney community in 1973. She was a charter member af the Oney Baptist Church. She became a Christian at an early age and served her Lord for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, her parents, one brother, Claude Childress; two sisters, Marie Wilson and Ethel Moore and one nephew Dr. Thomas Moore.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Frankie and Alvin Sharp of Albert; two grandchildren, Beverly Powers and husband, Randy, Blly Sharp and wife, Laurie; four great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Alice Childress of Colbert; one niece Claudette Williams of colbert.
Burial was in the Carnegie Cemetery under the direction of the Fort Cobb Funeral Home.
