Bonnie Belle Bode, 83, of Ames, mother of Hennessey residents Teresa Weber, Sandy Turner and Roxann Jones, died Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Enid.

A rosary was held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Okeene. Mass of Christian burial was set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church with Father Prabhakar Kalivela as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery under direction of Wilkinson Mortuary in Okeene.

She was born Nov. 26, 1925, at her home north of Watonga to Ernest Leroy and Edith Granetta Gorby Edsall.

She graduated from Watonga High School in 1944, and attended Southwestern College, majoring in accounting.

She married Walter A. Bode on Oct. 8, 1949, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Okeene. He preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 1995.

She was a resident of the Ames community since 1953, where she was a homemaker and farmed. She was employed for Krause Tax Accounting in Okeene in the accounting department until her retirement.

Survivors include four daughters, Teresa Weber and husband Gene, Sandy Turner and husband Curtis, and Roxann Jones and husband Doyle, all of Hennessey, and Patricia Willoughby and husband Rusty of Alexandria, Tenn.; four sons, Walter "Sunny" Bode and wife Rita, William "Bill" Bode and wife Tina, Charles "Chuck" Bode and wife Dena, and Scott Bode, all of Ames; two brothers, Earl "Chub" Edsall and Earnest "Bud" Edsall, both of Watonga; three sisters, Patsy McDowell of Oklahoma City and Ladonna Bond and Greta Wright, both of Watonga; 20 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, and two sisters, Nona Mae Brandt and Elmera Scheffler.
