BROKEN ARROW - Geronimo ALEXANDER was born September 20, 1907 at Bixby, Oklahoma. He died February 8, 1999, in Tulsa.
Wake services were held February 10 at Bixby Funeral Home with Rev. Bill ALEXANDER and John LOWE officiating. Funeral services were held February 11 at Haikey Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Bernadine DOWDY, Jerry WALKER and Jim ALEXANDER officiating. Pallbearers were Steve McHENRY, Joe McHENRY, Eli McHENRY, Jay HUNTER, Major McHENRY, and Shane VAUGHN. Interment was at Bixby Cemetery.
He attended Euchee Mission School from 1917 to 1927 where he trained as a plumber.
He worked in New Mexico at a local Indian school and at Kirkland Air Base during World War II. He retired from Sandia National Laboratories in 1970 as a plumber and pipe fitter.
In 1987, he moved to Broken Arrow. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of Masonic Lodge Temple No. 6 in Albuquerque and a Shriner, a member of the Ballut Abyad Shrine Temple. In 1996 the New Mexico Scottish Rite Masons dedicated the Geronimo Alexander Museum and Library at Temple Lodge No. 6 in his honor.
He was also a silversmith. He was a member of Locapokv Tribal Town and the Bear Clan. He was lifelong member of Haikey Chapel and had served as a board trustee.
He was the son of Willie T. and Nancy Cox ALEXANDER, both deceased.
He was married to Elsie NAHARKE in 1944. She preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. He was survived by his son Micco ALEXANDER of St. Louis Park, MN; one sister, Josephine Dollie McHENRY of Broken Arrow; Jessica MONROE (relationship not given); and many relatives.
