Funeral service for Bob Bierig, 85, will be 1 p.m. Monday, April 4, 2011, at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Pastor Wade Burleson officiating. Burial will be in Bierig Cemetery, near Okeene, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Bob was born to Ben and Hannah (Kuxhaus) Bierig on Aug. 31, 1925, in Isabella and died Friday, April 1, 2011, in Enid.

He attended school at Deep Creek and Okeene, graduating from Okeene High School.

On April 16, 1944, he married Vada Nightengale in Fairview.

Bob then served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, where he was a welding instructor. He worked as an oil field consultant for Bobby Young Consultants until he retired in 1984 due to health reasons.

On Aug. 8, 1986, he married Pat Lumpkin. They made their home in Enid.

Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He and Pat were members of Good Sam's Camping Club and Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Bob is survived by wife, Pat; children, Lyle Bierig and fiancée Patty Smith of Pryor, Jana McDaniels and husband Howard of Wichita, Wesley Bierig of Salina, Kan., Owen Bierig and wife Kim of Ponca City; stepchildren, Charlie Sims of Clearwater, Fla., Lucinda LaPread and husband Paul of Tuskagee, Ala., Wesley Sims and wife Stephanie of Yukon, and Melody Cauthon of Glenpool; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and first wife, Vada.
