Funeral for Clara Mae Akeens, 65, Lawton, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Comanche Nation Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Harris officiating.
Burial will follow at Fort Sill Apache Cemetery, Fort Sill, under direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home.
Clara went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, with her family by her side.
Prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Billy Harris officiating.
She was born to George Akeens and Constance (Kawaykla) Waysepappy on Sept. 15, 1946, in Lawton. Clara enjoyed playing cards, sewing, and spending time with her friends and family. She loved to laugh and have a good time with people.
She is survived by two sons: Anthony James Russell and Bobby James Akeens; two daughters: Angela Renea Russell and Earvia Lajuan Akeens, both of Lawton; six brothers: Michael Kawaykla, Wesley Waysepappy, Bert Waysepappy, George Akeens Jr., Brown Akeens and Newton Akeens; two sisters: Pat Pewo, and Gina Akeens; and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Elroe Waysepappy; three sisters: Christine Waysepappy, Georgia Akeens and La Dema Ann Akeens; brothers: Elroe Jr., Dale Waysepappy, Ruben Dale Akeens, George Alan Akeens and G. John Akeens; and uncles: Donald and Joe Kawaykla.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
