Former City Grocery Merchant Succumbs
M.N. Baker, former merchant and a resident of this community for a number of years, passed away at his home 18 miles southeast of town at 9:30 Tuesday morning after a long illness. Funeral services were held at the home at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday by Rev. R.I. Graham, pastor of the Carnegie Methodist church, and interment was made in the Alden cemetery under direction of Pitcher Funeral Home.
Milton N. Baker was born November 17, 1883 at Belfount, Ark. He was united in marriage with Miss Pearl Evatt of Elmore City December 2, 1903 and to this union one son Leon, was born. Surviving him are his widow and son of the home address and four sisters, Mrs. Nola Buss, Monroe, Wash.; Mrs. Doxie Benson, Everett, Wash.; Mrs. Blanche Deyo, Arlington, Wash., and Mrs. Mary Dinsmore, Seattle, Mrs. Dinsmore being the only sister to attend the funeral.
Mr. Baker came to Carnegie from Washington in 1921 and was in the grocery business for several years and had many friends here. He was a member of the Methodist church.
