Lawrence Bessette, a long-time Scenic and Yankton resident, died at Yankton Saturday night. He was 81.
Funeral services are scheduled Tuesday at 9 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church. Burial will be in the Scenic cemetery under direction of Behrens Mortuary.
Bessette was born in Kansas, Aug. 2, 1882, and had lived on a homestead at Scenic for about 40 years before moving to Yankton where he had made his home the last 40 years.
Surviving is a brother, James Lee Bessette of Rapid City.
