Mr. Abbott died at his home here at about 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
He was born June 16, 1904, in Crawford County, Iowa, and when about six years old came with his parents to the Hayes area. He attended schools there and had spent most of his life farming and ranching in that area until moving to Pierre in April 1967.
Surviving are his widow, Christena; two daughters, Donna Jean and Grace Ellen, and a son, Ray Patrick, all of Pierre; three brothers, Robert of Fort Pierre, John of Camp Crook and Leon of Pierre; two sisters, Mrs. Edgar Percy of Spearfish and Mrs. Charlotte McIntosh of Spokane, Wash."
