Tony Battaglia (1925 - 2013) Obituary
Tony Battaglia, age 87, of Thousand Oaks, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2013.
Tony was born in New York City of December 16, 1925, and has been a Ventura County resident for the past 41 years after moving here from North Brunswick, N.J. He retired from Dr. Scholls after a 25 year career as a salesman. Tony had a deep faith and participated in the RCIA, and he was a member of the Society of St. Vincent De Paul and the Italian Catholic Federation. He was an avid poker player, a natural dancer and participated at the Goebel Senior Center. He loved history and literature, so he became a member of the Shakespeare Club and exercised his mind through the continued study of history.
Tony leaves behind his son, Tony (wife Debbie); his daughter, Beth (husband Dan); and his sister, Ann. His legacy lives on in his grandchildren, Jessica, Tom and Miles.
A viewing will start at 6 p.m. with a Vigil being said at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, in the chapel at Griffin Family Funeral Chapels. A mass will be said on Friday, March 22, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church. A burial will follow the mass at Assumption Cemetery in Simi Valley.
