Roy Abbas, 86, died Monday, June 5, 2017 at his Lennox, SD, home. Roy Leland Abbas was born on July 8, 1930, the son of Harry and Annie (Peterson) Abbas.

He attended Chancellor Public School. Roy entered the U.S. Army in 1952, during the Korean War, and served until his honorable discharge in 1953. On February 10, 1956 he married Lena Wildeboer. The couple made their home in Lennox their entire married life. Roy delivered eggs and hauled milk for Hoelscher Creamery and then AMPI for 42 years. Lena died on March 12, 2016. Roy was a member of First English Lutheran Church, Lennox and the Lennox American Legion Post for 61 years. He enjoyed camping and traveling.

Besides his parents and wife, Roy was preceded in death by two brothers: Harold Abbas on April 7, 1984 and Julius Abbas October 6, 1997 and one sister, Laura Sutliff on September 16, 1998.

Grateful for having shared his life are his five children: David (Renee) Abbas, Diane Abbas, Darvin (Kristi) Abbas, Danny Abbas and Denise Stansell all of Lennox; four grandchildren: Christopher (Kisha) Abbas, Stephanie (Rob) Hoover, Darin Abbas and Tyler Abbas; seven great-grandchildren: Isabella Abbas, Carter Abbas, Gracie Abbas, Ashton Hoover, Mason Hoover, Zachary Hoover and Madelyn Hoover as well as other relatives and friends.

Services will begin 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 8 at First English Lutheran Church, Lennox with burial to follow in the Lennox Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Dindot-Klusmann Funeral Home, Lennox.
