Joseph was born on May 4, 1910 to Joseph and Mary Ann Lindner in Kranzburg, SD where he was raised and attended Catholic school. When Joe was 13, his family moved to Wisconsin, but Joe remained in Kranzburg where he worked for various farmers. Later, he moved to Gary, SD where he continued working for as a farm hand. Joe also did other various jobs during this time. Joe was very mechanical and liked working on farm equipment and cars.
In June of 2003, he entered the Hendricks Nursing Home where he died Friday, November 30, 2007 at the age of 97 years, 6 months and 26 days.
Joe is survived by one brother, Leon Duncan, La Crosse, WI; nieces and nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother George and one sister Laura Stone.
Mass of Christian Burial for Joe Lindner, age 97, of Gary, SD will be Tuesday, December 4, 2007 in the St. Peter's Catholic Church, Gary, SD. Fr. Brian Simon will celebrate.
Burial will be in the Grandview Cemetery, Gary, SD.
Pallbearers will be: Gene Steele, John Jenson, James Jenson, Harold Sillman, Norman Bailey, and Ardell Bren.
The Houseman-Eng Funeral Home in Clear Lake, SD is in charge of the arrangements.
