Aloha, Ore. - Joe Corliss, 95, of Aloha, Ore., died Jan. 12, 2007, followed two and a half days later on Jan. 15, 2007, by his wife of over 74 years, Gazelle E. (Pulfrey) Corliss, 93.

Mr. Corliss was born Nov. 25, 1911, in Britton.

Mrs. Corliss was born Oct. 25, 1913, in Claremont.

They lived for many years in North and South Dakota before moving to Oregon with their family. Mr. Corliss worked as a steamfitter/welder for Steamfitters Local 290 in Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Corliss was a homemaker.

Survivors include sons, Ronald (Joyce) Corliss of Hecla; Richard (Clara) Corliss of Aloha, Ore.; and daughter, Shirley (Richard) Dinger of Portland, Ore. Surviving grandchildren are: Steve and Ramona (Corliss) Ortega of Tyler, Texas; Art and Shirley Corliss of Rogers, Minn.; Keith and Laurie Corliss of Fargo, N.D.; Daryn and Kathy (Corliss) Young of Emerald City, Saskatchewan, Canada; Ken and Sheryll (Dinger) Graven of Salem, Ore.; Bill Dinger of Brooks, Ore.; Grant and Jeena Corliss of Forest Grove, Ore.; Tim and Kim Corliss of Oregon City, Ore.; Renee Corliss of Beaverton, Ore.; Jerry and Denise (Erickson) Ramsden of Portland, Ore.; 20 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007, in Aloha at Springer and Son Funeral Home.

An additional memorial service will be held in May at the Detroit Cemetery in Hecla, when they are laid to final rest in the family cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Corliss were married in 1932. They moved from Lebam, Wash., to Hillsboro in 1940, and to Aloha in 1955.
