Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell. Burial with be in Calvary Cemetery, with military rites conducted. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today, with a Scripture service at 7 p.m., at Bittner Funeral Chapel in Mitchell.
Harlyn "Andy" Sigurd Andersen was born Aug. 13, 1937 in Sioux City, to Sigurd and Hildegard (Henrich) Andersen. He grew up in Sioux City, graduating from East High School. He entered the U.S. Army in November 1955 and served in Korea. After his discharge from the Army, he went to work for Burroughs/Unysis Corporation as a computer service engineer.
He married Marge Cordell on Jan. 20, 1962, in Watertown, S.D. In 1963, they moved to Mitchell, where they have been residents since that time. After 32 years with Burroughs/Unysis Corporation, he retired in 1991 and then worked for Trail King for seven years.
He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the Moose Lodge, the American Legion and was a RSVP volunteer.
He is survived by his wife, Marge; his son, Harlyn G (Linda) Andersen; his daughter, Annette Andersen, all of Mitchell; three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
