Leonard H. Ahrendsen, 83, of Wyoming died Tuesday, March15, at Anamosa Community Hospital.
Masonic services were held Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m.in Hayden Funeral Home. Services were held Friday, March 18that 1:30 p.m.in the Methodist Church. Burial was in the Wyoming Cemetery with the American Legion conducting graveside services.
Mr. Ahrendsen was born Dec. 20, 1893 to Hans and Dorothea Rohwedder Ahrendsen. He attended rural schools and Cedar Rapids Business College.
Alta Johnson became his bride on May 15, 1918. They lived most of their lives in the Wyoming area.
Leonard was a member of the Methodist Church, Keystone Masonic Lodge #206, American Legion Post #259, and Eagles. He was also a WWI veteran.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. James (Betty) Conrad of Georgia; 3 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Carl of Olin and Arthur of Wyoming; and a sister, Mrs. Dean (Anita) Sarby of Olin.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, 1 brother and 2 sisters.
