Jessie A. Ahrens, age 91, of Bourbonnais, IL formerly of Aroma Park, IL passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Presence Our Lady of Victory Nursing Home in Bourbonnais, IL. Jessie was born on July 27, 1922 in Cissna Park, IL the daughter of James and Vera (Dale) Lucas. She worked for Bear Brand Hosiery and then went on to work at the Kankakee County Courthouse. Jessie was a member of the F-Troop Color Guard in Aroma Park, enjoyed crossword puzzles, gardening, watching Wheel of Fortune, and especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her children; Robert (Kay) Nickles of Bradley, IL, Barbara (Jerry) Myers of Prescott, MI, Michael (Sue) Nickles of Bourbonnais, IL, John (Wendy) Brinkman of Kankakee, IL, LouAnn Carpenter of Bradley, IL, and Debbie Percey of Bradley, IL, sister-in-law Wilma Zarring of Paxton, IL, many grandchildren, and many great grandchildren.
Jessie is preceded in death by her husbands Bud Ahrens and Robert Nickles, a daughter Donna Brouilette, a son Ronald Nickles, grand daughter Lonnie Buchanan, sisters; Arlis Buskirk, Maryanne Hendrickson, and Dorothy Tull, a son-in-law David Carpenter, and a daughter-in-law Judy Nickles.
