Assistant Bank Cashier, Wife, Two Children and Girl Found Dead Council Bluffs la May 4, 1927 Mr and Mrs Leo Alberti their two children Leo 5 and Eldon 3 and their maid were found dead in their home here today.
Alberti was assistant cashier of the State Savings bank prominent in business circles The maid is Genevieve Endicott 15 daughter of Mr and Mrs E E Endicott who live in the country near here. The exact cause of the tragedy is not yet known. When Harold Alberti and 3 friends went to the house to investigate the failure of Alberti to reach the bank, the front door was found unlocked and the two were almost overcome by the flood of gas poured out the door. The body of Mrs Alberti partly dressed was found in the kitchen Alberti was in the bathroom partly dressed and the two children and the maid were still in their beds which were in one room.
Bluffs Banks Close for Alberti Funeral Council Bluffs la May All the banks of the city close at noon today for the funerals of Mr and Mrs Leo E Alberti and their two little boys who were killed by gas in their home early Wendsday morning The funeral of Miss Genevieve Endicott 15 high school student who made her home with the Albertis was held this fore noon Because of the prominence of the victims there is an air of mourning thoughout the entire city.
