C. Aillaud Dies At Age of 87
Long Time Jasper County Resident Succumbs at Home of Son.
Charles A. [W.] Aillaud, resident of Jasper county for over 70 years, died at 10:30 this morning at the home of his son William L. Aillaud, 422 E 4th St. N. at the age of 87. He had been in failing health for some time and bedfast for the past two weeks.

Charles William Aillaud was born Oct. 20, 1856, son of William and Catherine Aillaud, at LeClaire, Scott Co., Iowa, and came to Jasper Co. in 1867 settling on a farm south west of Newton. Here he lived until his retirement about 10 years ago. On Sept 23, 1884, he was married to Addie Helphrey who preceded him in death in 1937.

Survivors are two sons William L. Aillaud of Newton and Dr. H. C. Aillaud serving in the Navy, stationed in Hawaii; two brothers, Lewis of Newton and Fred Aillaud of South Pasadena, Calif., also two granddaughters, Mrs. Dora Young of State Center and Mrs. Lenore Skow of Newton.

Four sisters and one brother preceded him in death. Mr. Aillaud was a member of the Daily News Three Quarter Century club. He has lived with his son William during much of the time since coming to Newton. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
