Oliver married Lois Lenfest on 27 May 1849 in Washington, Knox Co, ME. They were the parents of 7 children: Alonzo, Helen M, Albina Lucretia, Elsie Jane, & Oliver. This family lived in Farmington Township, Cedar county, IA, section 18.

Contributed by Ozarksheryl - Death Notice, The Tipton Conservative, April 14, 1897, states Mr. and Mrs. Boynton were the parents of seven children, three of whom died in infancy.

Contributed by Daisy - The Tipton Conservative  April 14, 1897 - DIED - BOYNTON - At his home in Farmington township, Cedar county, Iowa, April 4th, Mr. Oliver Boynton, aged nearly 79 years.

Mr. Boynton was born at Palmero, Maine, June 27, 1818, and came to Cedar county in 1850, settling on the farm where he died.

He married Miss Lois Lenfest, May 28, 1859, and to them were born seven children, three of whom died in infancy, and two others after they were grown up, leaving two daughters, Mrs. Kelly and Mrs. Clark, with their mother, to mourn his death.

He was a man of kind heart and noble impulses, and by a life of unswerving integrity and devotion to principle, earned the respect and confidence of all who were privileged to know him.
