NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN TO ALL PERSONS INTERESTED:
That on the 9th day of June, 1948, the undersigned was appointed by the District Court of Iowa, in and for O'Brien County, Administratrix of the estate of Theodore Breitbarth, deceased, late of said county. All persons indebted to said estate will make payment to the undersigned and those having claims against the same will present them, legally authenticated, to said Court for allowance. Theodore Breitbarth Buried at Germantown -Services Monday
At the age of 89 years, five months and five days, Theodore Breitbarth, has made his home in this area since the late eighties, died at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Voss, Monday, May 31.
Funeral services were held the following Wednesday at 2 o'clock at St. John Lutheran Church, Germantown, and interment followed in St. John Cemetery. Rev. G. B. Eschenbacher, pastor of the church, officiated at the services. Pallbearers were John and Arnold Stamer, Adolph and Ernest Hoermann, Ernest Lustfield and August Hansen.
Born at Tinley Park, Illinois, December 26, 1859 [1958 matches 89 years above], Theodore Breitbarth moved to a farm near Granville in the late eighties. In 1917 the Breitbarths moved to a home they had purchased in Germantown. It was here that his wife preceded him in death in 1936 [her gravestone reflects 1935]. After 1941 he made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Voss.
There were six children born to Mr. and Mrs. Breitbarth. One son, William, died in military service on October 7, 1918. Members of the family remaining are Mrs. Fred Voss, Paullina; Mrs. Emma Swenson, Anoka, Minn.; Herman Breitbarth, Granville; Alfred Breitbarth. Washta, Edward Breitbarth, Iona, Minnesota.
Other relatives are four brothers, Ernest and Henry of Truman, Minnesota, and John and Carl, Illinois. Also one sister, Mrs. George Schulz of Tinley Park, Illinois and 18 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
