PACKWOOD -- Edward AVERY, 88, native of Jefferson County, died today at 8 a.m. today at the Jefferson County Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Methodist Church in Packwood with the Rev. William Kane in charge. Burial will be in Packwood Cemetery. The body is at the Raymond Funeral Home.
Edward AVERY was born Aug. 2, 1880, in Jefferson County, the son of John and Josephine LEMMING AVERY. He was married to Myrtle HINTON in 1907 and she died in 1908. On Sept. 17, 1924, he was married to Edna STEPHENSON NELSON at Mt. Pleasant. AVERY was a retired farmer.
In addition to wife he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd BLUCHER, Hedrick, and Mrs. Carl PETERS, Fairfield; three stepsons, Paul NELSON, Topeka, Kan.; Arvene NELSON and Harold NELSON, both of Des Moines; seven step-grandchildren, also two brothers, Bert AVERY, Fairfield, and Harry AVERY, Long View, Washington; and two sisters, Mrs. Cora WIGGINS, Riverside, Calif., and Verna AVERY, Fairfield.
