Doris M. Cuvelier, 86, of Aplington, died Saturday, Nov. 29, at Presbyterian Village, Ackley.
She was born May 13, 1922, in Butler County near Aplington, daughter of Henry P. and Swanetta Kramer Harms.
She married John Russell Cuvelier on May 1, 1945, at her parents' home in rural Aplington. He died in March 1977.
Mrs. Cuvelier received her education from a rural country school near her home, then worked at Rath Packing Co., Waterloo. Later she and her husband built, owned and operated the Aplington Village Motel until 1972.
Survived by: three daughters, Julie (Tom) DeGroote of Waterloo, and Theresa (Glen) Everts and Susan (Don) Manifold, both of Aplington; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Orlynn (Freida) Harms of Aplington.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Reformed Church, with burial in Pleasant View Cemetery, both in Aplington. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Redman-Schwartz Funeral Chapel, Aplington, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
