Phil Adams, 85, of Centerville died Sunday, June 5, 1994, at the Golden Age Care Center.
He was born Dec. 18, 1908, in Clarkdale, the son of Frank and Pauline (Guzzi) Adams.
He married Helen Davis July 3, 1942, in Unionville, Mo. She preceded him in death May 3,1980.
Survivors include a sister, Mary Hobart of Moravia; a brother, Abe Adams of Centerville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded, in death by his parents and a nephew.
He graduated from Centerville High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was in the National Guard for 22 years. He and Bob Hobart started and owned the Zepher Cleaners until he retired in 1980. He was a member of the Drake Avenue Christian Church, was a life-long member of the American Legion, belonged to the VFW and was a member of Jackson Masonic Lodge 42 of Centerville. He was a Knight Templar.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, at the Lange Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery. Visition will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
A memorial has been established to Friends of Oakland Cemetery or the Drake Avenue Christian Church and may be left at the funeral home.
