Elzora Dellola "Zody" (Miller) Anderson was born on Saturday; December 5, 1931 at home in Warren County, Iowa. She was one of seven children born to Janetta Josephine (Riddle) and Harley Ray Miller. Zody graduated from Melcher High School in 1951. She later attended American Institute of Business in Des Moines; Polk County, Iowa. Elzora was united in marriage to Kenneth Wayne Anderson on Friday; September 8, 1950 in Greenville; Davidson County, Tennessee. To this union six children were born. Zody and Wayne recently celebrated 57 years together. Zody's main occupation was wife, mother and grandmother; however she was also a loving care giver, 4-H leader, excellent seamstress, flower gardener and good cook. Helping to raise several generations of her children was her proudest accomplishment. Zody was a member of the Knoxville First Presbyterian Church and served on various committees through the years. For many years Zody sold Avon. As the children grew, Zody developed other interests. She enjoyed attending auctions and garage sales looking for antiques which she collected or resold. Zody enjoyed listening to various types of music but classic country and Jim Reeves were her favorites. Elzora Dellola "Zody" (Miller) Anderson, age 75, passed away on Sunday; September 16, 2007 at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital in Knoxville; Marion County, Iowa. Those left to mourn her passing are: her husband: Kenneth Wayne Anderson of Knoxville, Iowa. Five children and their spouses, Ranell & her husband: Ray Gendron of Temple; Bell County, Texas. Rachell Diane & her husband: Gordon Karr of Robinson; McLennan County, Texas. Tyrone & his wife: Suzanne Anderson of Des Moines, Iowa. Michaela & her husband: Tom King of Des Moines, Iowa and Lisa & her husband: Kim Jahner of Montgomery City; Montgomery County, Missouri. Six grandchildren: Nathanial, Robin & Riley Jahner. Janetta & Hanna Anderson and Kyle Karr. Five great-grandchildren: Landon Anderson, Waylon, Taven, Kyle and Katie Cook. One sister: Margaret Comito of Waterloo; Black Hawk County, Iowa and two brothers: Ross Miller of Des Moines, Iowa and John Miller of Swan; Marion County, Iowa. Preceding her in death were her parents; one son: Randy. Three brothers and one sister. May they rest in peace. Memorial services were held on Wednesday; September 19, 2007 at the Knoxville First Presbyterian Church with Reverend R. D. Streeter officiating. Committal services will be at a later date in Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville, Iowa. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Zody Anderson to the Knoxville Hospice of Central Iowa or the American Cancer Society.
