Miss Cuba Griggs Died Friday Eve
Miss Cuba Griggs, deputy under W.T. Martin, clerk of the district court, died suddenly last Friday evening at six o'clock in her room at the J.H. Ryan home, 514 North Market street following an illness of but a few hours.
Mis Griggs had been at her duties in the clerks office during the forenoon apparently in the best of health. During the noon hour she was taken ill but her condition was not regarded as serious.
Death came while she was quietly sleeping.
She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Albert Griggs of Des Moines, two brothers, Richard of Des Moines and Dwight of Oskaloosa, and two sisters, Mrs. Lou Hatcher of Brooklyn and Mrs. Ed Holland of Thornburg.
Miss Griggs was well known to the people of Oskaloosa. For more than six years she was deputy clerk of the district court and prior to that time she had been employed in the Style Shoppe and Oppenheimer-Alsop store.
The funeral was held Monday afternoon at the Wilcox-Garland chapel and burial was made in Forest cemetery.
