Services for Helen Georgia Abraham, 69, Red Oak, Iowa, were Monday at Nelson-Boylan Funeral Chapel, Red Oak, Iowa. The Rev. George Weitzel, pastor of the United Methodist Church, Emerson, officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, Iowa.
She died Friday, July 29, 1988, at her home following a brief illness.
Mrs. Abraham was born August 8, 1918 in Blockton, Iowa to Charles and Mary Melton. She married Charles Abraham on July 20, 1936, in Grant City, Missouri.
A life-long resident of Red Oak, she had worked at The Thomas D. Murphy Company for 10 years. She then worked for Union Carbide for 32 years retiring in January 1980.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, "The Guild" of the First United Methodist Church and BPW.
Survivors include her husband of Shenandoah; son, William (Sonny) Abraham of Villisca; brother, Edward Melton of Hartford, Michigan; two sisters, Dorothy Mellot of Red Oak and Edith Johnson of Des Moines; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
