Services for Mrs. Edith May Black, 84 of Glidden were held at the Dahn-Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden with burial in the Dillavou Cemetery.
Mrs. Black died after a brief illness January 26 at Austin, MN where she had been staying with her daughter.
She was born at Scranton 16 Feb 1887, a daughter of Jerome and Susan Sinclair Brower. Her marriage to Albert Black took place 01 Feb 1905 at Scranton. They retired from farming and moved to Glidden in 1925. Mrs. Black was a member of the United Methodist Church, Priscilla Club and Women’s’ Society of Christian Service, all at Glidden.
Survivors include three daughters: Mrs. Keith (Mildred) Dingman of Austin; Mrs. Merle (Juanita) Peterson of Albert City and Mrs. Robert (Wanda) Hatfield of Elizabeth, IL; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and two sisters Mrs. Chet Wheeler and Myrtle Brower, both of California.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1935; two sons Maurice and Floyd and five brothers and sisters.
