Ethel A. Baldwin was born April 19, 1909, in Ida Grove. She was the daughter of Jake Bauer and Anna E. (McBride) Bauer. She died May 6, 1996, at Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge.

Ethel attended school in Missouri, and later worked at Sears-Roebuck in Kansas City. She moved to Webster County and was united in marriage to Roy A. Baldwin on Aug. 9, 1926, in Jefferson. They farmed in Webster and Greene Counties, retiring and moving into Fort Dodge in 1960. Mr. Baldwin died in 1974.

Ethel was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fort Dodge.

Survivors include three daughters and four sons:
Berniece Larson of Paton;
Mildred Nordeen of Fort Dodge;
Mary Bauer of Spirit Lake, ID;
Dr. Bernard Baldwin of Boone;
Leonard Baldwin of Hot Springs Village, AR;
Dr. Ray Baldwin of Blythe, CA,
Dr. Leslie Baldwin of Macomb, IL;
13 grandchildren;
several great grandchildren;
two brothers: Eugene Pride of Fort Dodge and Dr. Kenneth Pride of Humboldt.

Services were held Wednesday, May 8, from Palmer Funeral Home in Gowrie for Ethel A. Baldwin, 87, of Fort Dodge, former Greene County resident. The Rev. Jeffrey R. Frese, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Fort Dodge, officiated. Garret Geisler was vocalist, with Almeda Gordon as organist. Casket bearers were Chad and Clay Baldwin, Marvin Mengel, Jack Griffin, Floyd Mullins, and Garret Geisler. Interment was in Dawson Twp Cemetery west of Paton.
