Mads "Moss" Andersen, 87, died January 13, 1990, after an extended illness.
Funeral services were held January 16 at 2 p.m. in Grace United Methodist Church in Correctionville under direction of Rev. Dee Ann Klapp.
Burial was in the Correctionville Cemetery under direction of Barker Funeral Service with Military Rites by Mumford-Moon Post #79 American Legion and Post #1750 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Moss was born September 17, 1912. He married Mildred Heald in September 1944.
The couple have two children, Richard and Tamaren. Moss and his wife owned and operated Andersen's Café and Tavern.
He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and VFW.
While president of the Commercial Club, they started the annual Chamber banquet.
Moss is survived by his wife, Mildred, a daughter, Tamaren Heath, a son Richard, three grandchildren, two brothers, Harley of Kingsley and John of Storm Lake, a sister, Norma Glassburner of Council Bluffs, four sisters-in-law, Mrs. Harley (Betty) Andersen, Mrs. John (Herma) Andersen, Venith Brower of Long Beach, California, and Rose Heald of Sioux City, several cousins, nieces and nephews, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Richard, and a brother-in-law, Fred Glassburner, and a sister-in-law, Vivian Hendrickson
