Dorothy Lois (Fenn) Clayton, 89, formerly of Redfield, died Sunday, August 21, 2005 at Humboldt Care Center South. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, August 25 at Redfield Christian Church with burial following at Clayton Family Cemetery near Van Meter.

Dorothy was born September 4, 1915 in Adel to Marion and Lulu (Hutzell) Fenn. She graduated from Adel High School and on May 29, 1938, she married Dwight Clayton. They were married 57 years and spent most of those years farming near Redfield. Dorothy was an active member of the First Christian Church of Redfield, a volunteer 4-H leader for more than 10 years, a PTA member and officer and helped wiht the Dallas County food distribution program for many years.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Paul (Norma) Clayton of Humboldt, IA, Dolores (Jack) Belden of Castle Rock, CO, Nancy (Randy) Schietzelt of Crystal Lake, IL, Carolyn Anderson of Columbia, MO, and Jane (Craig) Schmidt of Ankeny, IA; as well as nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. Wednesday at McCalley Funeral Home where family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to the First Christian Church of Redfield or the Hospice of Humboldt County.
