"ROBERT BAKER
"Robert K. Baker, 61, of Davenport died Sept. 3, 1986, at Mercy Hospital in Davenport.

"He was born April 6, 1925, in 0ttumwa to Ralph and Mamie Seaburg Baker. He married Esther Purkhiser
on Dec.18, 1949, in Nevada, Iowa. He was a former employee of Baker, Helgerson and Baker Real Estate-lnsurance in Ottumwa and for the past 25 years he had been employed by the Army Corp of Engineers. He served as chairman of the board for the Hedrick Savings Bank. He graduated from the University of Iowa in 1950 and was a member of the Elks Lodge of Ottumwa and Grace United Methodist church in Davenport.

"He is survived by his wife; five daughters, Ann Horsey of Dover, Del., Susan Powell of Bettendorf, Rea Patzwald of Chicago, Ill., Carol Ornelas of San Diego, Calif, and Christine Loscalzo of Davenport; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Corinne Helgerson of Ottumwa and Gloria Guest of Dayton, Ohio; and his stepmother, Mildred Baker of 0ttumwa.

"The service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church in Davenport, the Rev. Dicks
officiating. Burial will be 4 p.m. Saturday in Chisman Cemetery in 0ttumwa.

"Visitation is 3-9 p.m. today at Runge Mortuary in Davenport.

"Memorials have been established to his church or the Iowa Cancer and Leukemia research at the University of Iowa, in care of Dr. Patrick Burns."
