According to history given at the Beshey family reunion in Iowa, the family said that Mary Phillips' mother Mary Regina Phillips had a second marriage to Jacob Bohy. So, her name is sometimes listed as Mary Bohy.
In this same history, Alexander says the family first settled in Portsmouth, Ohio. The 1860 Census in Union, Scioto, Ohio shows a family named Joseph Begy who has all the family members. The family moves to Lee County, Illinois. Celestine marries Mack July, Joseph, Francis, and Polete die and are buried in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Lee County, Illinois.
Joseph's wife Mary, moves to Iowa with Alexander and Frank and Jane Claude Beshey. Mary is buried in 1887 in Webster City, Iowa.
